Since I have started in traveling stuff i’ve always had the need of exploring countries by the point of view of a citizen and not like a tourist.
So I left the hotel on my feet, and decided not consult the traveling guide and search for my own for the secret and interesting locations that greece and his locals enjoy daily.

It’s hard to believe that people had such a hard time living in this breathtaking country, especially after you see pictures of the real-life ruins from back in the day
Icaria and the north of Crete
Rethymno is a small city located in the north of the island of Crete, and it reminds me kind of a Venetian impression because of the small boats at the shore and beaches.
I really recommend a walk in Rethymo Short streets and getting to know those flavors and smells from those family restaurants with a lot of Mediterranean sea food.
Later, I take a boat and take a look at a small island with a huge history, and I’m talking about Icaria. Having one of the most wonderfull times of my life degusting a strong red wine.
Icaria have the most long-lived people in greece, and its amazing to hear stories about what this small island town has been through as independents or as a part of greece.
